I loaded up my three children to drive home from school and waited for him to reveal his serious issue. He started to let us know of the problem that had occurred at school. Someone had put a pencil in his classroom’s toilet and backed it up. I must admit this is probably not a very fun incident for the teacher to deal with, worse for the maintenance department; however, it did strike my older two children and me as slightly amusing. My son became incensed with us. He let us know that this was the second time the toilet had been blocked up with a pencil and that this was costing the school over $3,000 to fix. (I am not sure how much plumbers charge these days. I know it is a lot, but even I think this estimate is on the high side.)
My son watched The Pink Panther movie over the break so I am guessing he thinks it his job to solve the mystery and smoke out the pencil-clogging villain. I told him that he should stay out of this caper, but that if he did find out who was clogging up the school toilet to please NOT invite him to our house!
