It Is Time For SNOW!

I love December, not only for the holidays, but also for the frosty weather! My children have a ball enjoying the cooler temperatures. They get excited about being outdoors, but they also have fun inside making paper snowflakes. Truthfully, when you live in the sunny state of North Carolina, your best bet is to make your own flakes!

One of my children’s favorite books to read this time of year is Snip, Snip Snow by Nancy Poydar. This is a terrific book about a young school girl who really wants it to snow. A snow storm is supposed to arrive during the school day, but the storm is late to arrive. The girl and her classmates make paper snowflakes while they are waiting and decorate their classroom windows. In the end, the storm does arrive and the children are delighted.

On the last page of the book, there are instructions on how to make your own paper snowflakes. This is a fun book to read to your family when winter weather arrives in your town.
