Cinco De Mayo

Today is Cinco De Mayo! Did you know that the Cinco De Mayo holiday commemorates Mexico's defeat of French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862? Cinco De Mayo is celebrated in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.

The date is perhaps best recognized in the US as a date to celebrate the culture and experiences of Americans of Mexican ancestry. Special events highlighting Mexican culture, especially in its music and regional dancing are popular celebrations honoring this day.
